Led by: Lauren Cullen
Current UCLA Position: UI/UX Designer
Affiliated UCLA Department(s): UCLA Office of Advanced Research Computing
I enjoy designing meaningful digital experiences. As the product and visual designer for the Mobile Research Technology Group, I design mobile and web applications, platforms, websites, and data visualization tools that are used by UCLA’s academic communities and for research projects with NIH, NSF, and VA grants.
XR Interests
This XR Design subgroup is intended for anyone who would enjoy exploring and learning about XR design related topics and resources.
There will be discussions and presentations from guest speakers on topics of interest such as:
- Prototyping immersive experiences
- UI/UX approaches and best practices for XR applications
- 3D graphics techniques and tools
Goals
The central goal here is to build an engaging subgroup for people to get to learn about XR design! The aim is to create a collaborative environment for connecting with one another and sharing ideas so that members of the group can all learn from the experience.
Meetings Topics
- Explore what constitutes a quality immersive experience
- Discuss how to craft the UI/UX to fit specific goals
- Engage in an overview of digital and immersive authoring tools for prototyping XR
